Shepherd's Pie

Created
Prepared by the one and only, Mr. Matt Martin. I'm not a fan of mashed potatoes so this was my very first time with the SP...and it was delicious. Not to mention, beautiful to look at.

Salmon & Asparagus

At Spirits in Alexandria. The asparagus was perfect and seasoned so well; I ate every bite. The salmon, however, was too much for me to handle. It was absolutely delicious, but enormous. I felt terribly guitly about being unable to finish such a wonderful piece of meat. Spirits never goes wrong with fish. Their chefs are gifted.

Apple Pie

This was truly a family effort. Mom & Dad each took a turn peeling/slicing the apples. My sister-in-law, Dawn, handled the lattice crust (much to Moma's chagrin - haha) and I made the sauce that was poured over the whole thing. Daddy bought the ice cream that we had on the side. It was absolutely decadent.

Beef Biscuit Cheese Thing

This was also really great. And again, a family effort. I think next time, I'll substitute the peas with broccoli.

Fresh Salsa

This was good, but I think we put in too much cilantro.

Frying Crab Cakes

My first attempt at crab cakes from "scratch" didn't turn out too badly. I loved having my hands in the stuff, rolling it up. So domestic, am I. I also made a special sauce that's especially for crab cakes but it was a complete flop. Zataran's Rice Pilaf & steamed broccoli on the side...and peanut butter pudding (yes, from scratch!) to finish. Wonderful stuff, even though I scorched the pudding a little. At some point, I'll make a meal without burning a single thing.

Italian Chef Salad

Ham, salami, pepperoni. Poboy Express, Pineville, LA

It wasn't too bad at first, but about halfway through, I really wanted a cucumber.

Too Sweet Salmon

Johnny Carino's

I will not be ordering this again. This super sweet fish combined with the red Sangria was enough to make me teeter on the diabetic fence. Bleh.

Meatloaf & Pear Cobbler

My wonderful sister-in-law made a wonderful Sunday lunch.

Meatloaf, scalloped potatoes, broccoli & cauliflower....and pear cobbler. Hmmm.

Stuffed Bread

Port Barre ShopRite: This little gem was not as wonderful as I wanted it to be.

Bobchelle Bake

Hashbrown Spam Bake modified by Michelle & Bobby.

This was my very first time to have Spam. Ever. And it wasn't terrible. But it's pretty easy to enjoy anything that's covered in melted cheese and crushe potato chips.

This may very possibly may be the best piece of fish I've ever eaten.
